Editorial policy

This page sets out how the site works. It exists partly because readers deserve to know and partly because search engines and answer engines increasingly weigh this kind of transparency.

Recipe development

Recipes are developed from traditional preparations, cross-checked against Greek-language sources and family practice, and cooked in a domestic kitchen. Where regional versions differ meaningfully, the differences are described rather than flattened into one version.

Originality

All method, explanatory copy, tips and answers on this site are original. Ingredient lists for traditional dishes are shared culinary heritage and are not owned by anyone, but no text is taken from another publication.

Nutrition information

Nutrition figures are calculated from the ingredient quantities using standard composition data. They are estimates. Actual values vary with brands, cuts of meat, size of vegetables and how much of a marinade or frying oil is actually consumed. They are not a substitute for advice from a qualified dietitian.

Ratings and reviews

The site displays no aggregate ratings and emits no rating markup, because it has not yet received genuine reader ratings. Publishing invented ratings would mislead readers and would breach search engine structured data guidelines.

Health claims

Nothing on this site is medical or dietary advice. Where the Mediterranean diet is discussed, it is described as a pattern of eating with a body of research behind it, not as a treatment for anything.

Corrections

If a recipe here is wrong, tell me and I will fix it and note the change. Recipes carry a last-updated date so you can see when they were last revised.
